Experience
I have extensive experience tutoring and teaching students of all ages. I truly enjoy helping today's young people excel in their studies. I first began teaching in 2010 when I spent a year teaching health classes at public high schools in the Bronx. I then continued working with students in 2011 at the Mind Builders Creative Academy. There, I held a position as an assistant violin teacher for several years. While teaching violin, I also began teaching academics again simultaneously; I worked at the Fordham University Gabelli School of Business as a teaching assistant. There, I helped edit and grade English essays. In addition, I spent some time during 2012 as a tutor for the Rosedale Achievement Center for Girls. I enjoy tutoring because feel that I am very good at helping students break down the material they are struggling to learn into smaller, and more easily digestible lessons. I strive to help students truly understand a subject and not just memorize facts or the answers to questions. I also help show students how what they are learning relates to the real world, which helps keep them engaged in lessons. When not tutoring, I have a passion for art. You can often find me checking out the local museums when I have free time.
