Education
I have taught middle school students italian for 12 years. I understand the difficulty in learning another language. However, with patience and fun it is possible. I love the language and the culture and am very passionate about sharing in fun and engaging ways. Along with teaching in public school, I also have experience with tutoring all levels of italian learners. Additionally, I have tutored adults who were learning because they were traveling to Italy. I have a BA in Italian from Montclair State University. During this time I also studied abroad in Sienna Italy. I travel to Italy often, and have visited 50+ cities in various regions of Italy. Each trip to Italy deepens my appreciation for the beautiful language, culture, and food. I have an MA in Education from Walden University. Lastly, I have a Supervisor Certification from Rutgers University.
Experience
I have been teaching Italian professionally at to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for 12 years. During this time I have also tutored adults who are trying to learn the language for various reasons (travel, pleasure, business, etc.). I have also tutored students, both high school and college level, to improve grades. I studied in Siena, Italy for a semester and frequently travel to Italy during the summer. I am first generation Italian, and am very passionate about the language, the culture, and the traditions of Italy. I enjoy tutoring because I firmly believe that one to one and or small groups are the best settings for practing and learning a second language. I also love speaking Italian, and I find tutoring to be a fun way to use my Italian while also helping others.

Hobbies
I enjoy listening to music, traveling, spending time outdoors, and going to the beach. In my free time I attend Italian culture workshops, watch Italian programs, listen to Italian music and create Italian meals. I am also part of a variety of Italian language and culture groups, which get together weekly to speak italian and discuss italian culture and foods. I also frequently speak to family living in Italy and enjoy keeping in touch and herring about new things happening or even just speaking to them to keep my Italian current and polished.
